Man was Getting Over on Terrell Owens

So the word is that a former employee of football star Terrell Owens was getting over and taking money from right under his nose to pay rent. A rent that was $2,100 per month, I am like for real? how can you just steal and use someone like that and someone the you use to work for?

Also didn't he think he would be caught? Everything is computerized and documented these days that is just dumb that he thought he was slick and it makes people not want to trust anymore. So this is a lesson for everyone to watch who they have around them and to check your bank accounts frequently.

Sean Kingston Jet Ski Accident

So the word is that singer Sean Kingston was in a Jet Ski Accident that left him intensive care. Sean Kingston was on a jet ski with a friend and ran into a Miami bridge and a couple and his friend jumped into the water to save the singer.

It is also said that the singer was puking out water and blood. I just wanted to send a pray for Sean Kingston that he pulls through and everything is ok.

she's a bombshell

(Vanity Fair Italia, May 2011)

I can appreciate a bombshell when I see one.  And Sophie Holmes for May issue of Vanity Fair Italia is a hot hot hot bombshell!  She reminds me of iconic movie stars from the 60's like Bridget Bardot or Rachel Welch.  Yup, the Italians like their women sexy!

OUTFIT DU JOUR - Ask and you shall receive

So I just asked "oh summer days, when will you visit Montreal?" the other day and it's all of a sudden 30ยบ C and sunny!!!  That's the kind of weather I have to deal with: one day winter; the next summer!  Well, I wouldn't exactly complain...afterall, I can now parade all my summer dresses and sandals!

Have been waiting a day like this to wear my new Adam t-shirt dress.  Love the simple cut and crisp white colour with attached double sided belt.  Despite a waredrobe full of blacks, my favorite colour is actually white.  But it's nearly impossible to keep white stain-free, even pre-Ayden!  I also wore the shoulder strap of my mom's Hermes purse (don't tell but I stole it from her) as a quadruple tour bracelet!  The orange really brings out all the details on my scarf.

Now, if only my hair can be a little more starchy so my scarf doesn't just fall off at the slightest breeze...

T-shirt dress - Adam; Purse - Mulberry; Silk scarf - Hermes; Leather shoulder strap (worn as bracelet) - Hermes; Sandals - Modern Vintage

Happy Memorial Day!

So the word is that today is the day of remembrance. In the past this day was mainly to honor fallen soldiers from the U.S military. As time has gone on most people still do honor the soldiers that died while serving but now they also honor and remember family members and love ones that have pasted away.

I enjoy the idea of  remembering family members and friends that are gone because by remembering them and reminiscing over the time spent with them makes the memory of that person live on. So everyone take time today and remember the ones that you have lost and enjoy the people that are still here will you again Happy Memorial Day!

Scottie Pippen Saying That LeBron James Is Better Than Michael Jordan

So the word is that retried NBA player Scottie Pippen made the statement :  "Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to play the game. But I may go as far as to say LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved."

“You have to be on your P’s and Q’s on defense. No guy on the basketball court is a threat to score with LeBron James out there. Not only will LeBron dominate from the offensive end as well, but he’s also doing it on the defensive end, which really makes him the complete package. He’s able to get in those passing lanes, shoot those gaps and create transition opportunities where he is pretty much unstoppable.”(http://www.eurweb.com/?p=108268)

After Scottie Pippen was Michael Jordan's right hand man when they played for the Bulls. Now he makes this statement. I am like wow that shows his loyalty. Then when he doesn't get a good response to the comment he's going to tweet: "Don't get me wrong, MJ was is the greatest. But LeBron by all means get to his level someday."

SMH Ok we can give LeBron some props for his skills and applaud the fact that his skills are still developing but don't try and knock down the greats. Even LeBron is saying that he is not better than Jordan. (In Ed Lover's Voice) "C'mon Scottie" LMAO

So Are People Biting Or Inspired?

So the word is that a lot of people have been biting off other artist. One artist that has been getting a lot of lip for biting is Beyonce for the recent performance of her new song "Run The World (Girls)" on the Billboard awards. This performance was labeled as groundbreaking and one of her best performances and it will be remembered for the years to come.
Also a lot of people were amazed by her uses of a digital background that they felt they had never seen. But later found out that the same concept was used by Lorella Cuccarini who is an Italian pop star.

The pop star also did a performance that people thought was groundbreaking but her performance took place in 2010. Beyonce said that her make up artist showed her a video of Lorella Cuccarini's performance and she was inspired, I really don't get why everyone is making a big deal out of it. But the question is, is there a huge differences between biting someones art and inspiring?

I think  they to come very close. In Beyonce's case I think it was inspiration because she brought the performance to America and killed her performance. Now when it comes to the duo (Deon & Damon) from "So You Think You Can Dance",

That's just plain biting because pretty much everything was the same. When you put their video next to the Les Twins performance at The World Of Dance your seeing the same thing on both sides. SMH it's ok to be inspired by others but ad least give them credit and don't make it seem as if you just came up with the idea out of thin air.

Sunday Brunch - Fieldberry French Toast

For some reason, over the past few months, my son became a night owl.  He doesn't go to bed before 1am and only wakes up by 11am...just like daddy!  I, however, am forced to get upat 8:30am sharp to keep Coco, my cat...I really don't understand how my got this end of the deal?!?

Anyways, I was craving for something sweet and something salty so decided to make french toasts and sausage for brunch (my favorite combo).  See, I'm not really a cook, but breakfast, anyone can do!

Fieldberry French Toast:

Indregients:
  • 2 thickly sliced toasts
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of chopped rasberries and strawberries (or any fresh fruits)
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup (or corn syrup)
Preparation:
  • Battered eggs and milk together
  • Add cinnamon and brown sugar
  • Soak toasts into mixture (make sure they are completely soaked)
  • Melt butter in a large pan
  • Once butter melted, pan fry toasts on low eat until golden on both sides
  • Place rasberries and strawberries on plated toasts
  • Pour maple syrup as desired
Once the french toasts are done, I then pan fried lamb sausages (hubby NEEDS meat for any meal).

Apple Being Sued By Two Black Men

So the word is after being denied service at a New-York Apple Store two African American men are going to sue apple. I think that these two men are doing the right thing because that is pure racism and discrimination and i am tired of people using a person's clothing to determine there perception of that person. It is said that the two men were wearing baggy clothing. Also the employees of  the Apple store in New York were also pushing there values by saying that the two men were not welcome in the establishment.

“And before you say I’m racially discriminating against you, let me stop you,” they claim the employee said. “I am discriminating against you. I don’t want ‘your kind’ hanging out in the store.”“Now you have to go,” Johnston and Charles (the two men that are pressing the charges)allege the other employee said. “If you want to know why, it’s because I said so. Consider me God. You have to go.”

Johnston and Charles asked to see a manager, but the head security guard of the store ignored their request. The manager eventually turned up, according to the plaintiffs, but he told the security guard to dial 911 to remove them from the store. They are seeking punitive damages due to ongoing “emotional pain, suffering, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, and other non-pecuniary losses.”( http://www.eurweb.com/?p=108152)

I can't believe people are still acting like this. It is 2011 like, every time that I think that we as a people have made strides in moving away from racism and discrimination, we take four steps back and that is a shame. I hope that these two men get what they're asking for because they deserve it, cause this is just wrong and the employees should be fired.

OBSESSION DU JOUR - Celine Phantom Luggage

(Celine Fall 2011)

(Celine Phantom Luggage tote in black)

No need for introduction.  By now, we are all too familiar with the Celine Luggage tote.  This one is however the 2nd generation: the Phantom Luggage with some adjustments to the original version.

The faux croc stamped leather would be divine, but I decided to put my name down for the all black suede with patent leather sides, which is due to arrive sometime in july.  Can't wait to hold it in my hands...let's hope that nobody on the list before me wants it...I know, fat chance!

The Hangover Part II Review:

Image taken from screencrave.com

You know the drill, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but what happens when similar festivities take place in a different city? You get The Hangover Part II.

It’s someone else’s turn to walk down the aisle! Despite being determined to not let anything go wrong, which means refusing to have a bachelor party, Stu (Ed Helms) somehow finds himself lost and confused with Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) in Bangkok two days before he is supposed to be married. Once again, the wolf pact has no memory of their night and you guessed it: someone is missing in a foreign city.

The Hangover Part II forces the characters to rely on odd clues and unusual people to trigger their memory in hopes of finding out exactly what took place. The characters and audience must both work backwards to find out where their friend is and what the hell happened to them.

Since this is the sequel, the audience is already familiar with the characters. Stu is sweet and boring-unless he’s drunk. Phil is the experienced bad boy who keeps the men calm in crisis, knowing exactly what to do and when to do it. And Alan, well he’s Alan! He’s reckless, spontaneous and overall, missing a few screws, but somehow you can’t shake him. Basically, the audience knows what to expect and so this time around, the characters and their adventures have to be more extreme (and crude.) For the most part, they are.

The Hangover Part II had some pretty big shoes to fill and overall, the movie did a good job. Although there isn’t many laugh out loud moments, you will chuckle and giggle throughout and you will definitely have your jaw drop repeatedly from shock.

Go out and see this movie, I give the film a 7.5/10

my little angel

Yes, I'm a very proud mother...but how can anyone not be if their little boy looks like mine?

These are three of the pictures taken when Ayden was 8 month old during a photo session in Shanghai, which were just sent to me yesterday.  Pampers, Baby Gap and Johnson & Johnson, please take an appointment with our manager for advertising agreement.  Hollywood, we might also consider movie contracts depending on the script!

Zooey Deschanel’s The New Girl Sneak Peek:

I’m starting to wonder how I will be able to watch all the new shows lined up this fall-especially all the comedies, the old, and now the new. I’ll have to invest in a DVR, PVR or TiVo. Too bad I’m not the greatest with electronics…

Moving on.

Zooey Deschanel will star as Jessica Day in the Fox sitcom The New Girl. The series will follow the life of newly single Jessica who decides she needs a fresh start to help cope with her breakup. After convincing three male roommates to let her join in on their living arrangements, the guys get a taste of the post-breakup grieving, realizing it isn’t pretty.

The preview looks sweet and funny in a chick flick sort of way. I also love Zooey Deschanel’s quirky but charming acting. Also, Damon Wayan's jr is part of the cast, if he's anything like his brothers, we are all in for a comedic treat. Here’s a sneak peek:

Let's Help Joplin, Missouri

Image taken from nytimes.com

On Sunday May 22nd, a massive tornado hit Joplin, Missouri. As of this morning, 132 people were confirmed dead and 156 people are still missing, making this the single most deadliest tornado to hit the U.S.A since modern record keeping began in 1950.

Joplin Mayor Mike Woolston told NBC that he was expecting the death toll to rise slowly. While few are being reunited with missing loved ones, the majority are having their worst fears confirmed since it is unlikely that individuals will be found alive underneath the rubble as we approach five days since the tornado first hit.

President Obama said in an interview that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was being sent to Joplin to help with recovery efforts. The president stated, “FEMA is working with the affected area’s state and local officials to support response and recovery efforts, and the federal government stands ready to help our fellow American’s as needed.”

You can also help aid relief efforts by making a donation. It is as simple as texting REDCROSS to 90999 and $10 will be added to your monthly phone bill. A $10 donation will go a long way.

Officially The Hottest New Trend

Image taken from Instyle.com

Halle Berry attended the FIFI Awards last night where she was honored with the Elizabeth Taylor Fragrance Celebrity Of The Year Award. In case you didn’t know, the FIFI Awards celebrates creative achievements in the fragrance industry.

The actress accepted her award in an asymmetrical little black dress (LBD) that featured sexy cut outs by Halston. I’ve been seeing lots of gowns with cut out detailing and am determined that it is one of the summer’s hottest trends.

Take a look at how it amplifies the LBD or more formal black gown:

Showcasing cut outs can be done subtly as well, as seen below in more formal wear:

I'm officially calling this one of the hottest trends this summer so keep an eye out for pieces that feature cut out detailing and don't be shy, try this trend!
